Memento Mori

One girl's adventures in gaming.

Tag Archives: Backlog

It’s been quiet here at Memento Mori for several months and I apologize for that. What with graduating university and scrambling to get a job, I haven’t really had the time (or will) to write.
I have, however, been playing games.
2012 looks like it’s going to be a great year for games with releases I’m especially looking forward to like Mass Effect 3, BioShock Infinite, Assassin’s Creed 3, and many more but for the past few months I’ve found myself going back to playing older games.
Every gamer has their own “backlog” of games they’ve kept throughout the years, some partially played and some never even loaded once and I’m not an exception.
I recently signed up for an account at backloggery.com to keep a record of what I’ve fully completed and what I haven’t and I was surprised to find out just how many games I still had to finish or fully complete (100% achievements).
There are a few games on my list though that I am quite comfortable with having just “beaten” instead of earning all the achievements so I made note of those and set them aside. But even having set them aside my list is still quite hefty.
At the moment my current list of “must” finish are:
-Red Dead Redemption
-Skyrim
-Catherine
-Fallout: New Vegas
-inFamous
-Persona 3 Portable
-Persona 4
-God of War 3
-Dragon Age: Origins

Lately I’ve been focusing on Red Dead Redemption and Skyrim. I finished the main quest in Skyrim pretty early in the game and am now just focusing on all the faction and side quests. I don’t anticipate completing Skyrim any time soon but it will stay on my currently playing list because it’s just so damn addictive.
I bought Red Dead Redemption a couple of months ago last year because it was on sale and a lot of friends gave rave reviews of it. I started playing it immediately after I bought it but other releases (read: Skyrim) took my attention away from it. As of today I’m only about 25% complete with the story but it’s currently my #1 focus. The story and characters are really starting to draw me in now so I don’t anticipate it taking me long to finish. I bought the Game of the Year edition that comes with multiplayer and Undead Nightmare and I can’t wait to give those a try as well once I’m done with the RDR story.
